Residential Collection Guidelines

  • You have a collection day, not a collection time. The timing of your pickup may vary due to many factors. Place your items for collection at the street the night before your collection day.
  • Please bag all trash, even if you are using a cart.
  • Double bag loose waste like kitty litter, animal waste, sawdust, ashes, insulation and packing peanuts.
  • Place long items like broom handles, curtain rods, etc. on the ground beside the trash.
  • Please keep the weight of all bags to a maximum of 30 pounds and carts to a maximum of 200 pounds.
  • Cart placement is important for safe and efficient collection. Please follow these instructions for placing your cart at the street.

Collection Day

Your trash collection day will not change.

Your recycling collection day will not change. However, Granger's recycling schedule is a little different than Alchin's. Please take note of the following:

  • If you previously had recycling collection every week, you will continue to have collection every week for now. However, your recycling schedule may change to every other week in the future. We will notify you well in advance of this change.
  • If you previously had recycling collection the first and third weeks of the month, you will have recycling collection the week of October 4 and every other week after that. Please refer to the first week recycling calendar to help you remember your recycling week.
  • If you previously had recycling collection the second and fourth weeks of the month, you will have recycling collection the week of October 11 and every other week after that. Please refer to the  second week recycling calendar to help you remember your recycling week.
