Are there any items you don’t accept for bulk collection?

We will not accept any items prohibited by our Waste Acceptance Guidelines. Additionally, we will not pick up extremely oversized or heavy items such as hot tubs or pianos. These items must be brought to our Disposal Center of Lansing for a fee.

Can I have more than one bulk item picked up per week?

You may request collection of more than one item, but you will be charged a fee for any more than one item per week. If you have more than one item to be disposed of, you are encouraged to schedule another collection for a future week by completing the form again.

What is the charge for bulk item collection?

Residents in the city of DeWitt are eligible for collection of one bulk item per week at no additional charge. Items that are exceptionally heavy or oversized may be subject to additional charges. All appliances containing Freon or another refrigerant (refrigerators, freezers, etc.) are subject to a $20 refrigerant removal fee.  

When will my bulk item be collected?

Bulk item collection in the city of DeWitt takes place every Wednesday. Requests submitted by close of business on Monday will be picked up on Wednesday of the the same week. To ensure your item is out when the truck comes, please place it at the street the night before your scheduled collection day.

What are bulk items?

Bulk items are items that are too large to fit in your trash cart. Some examples include the following: Dressers Armchairs Sofas (sectional couches and sleeper sofas count as more than one item) Mattresses and box springs (each counts as a separate item) Microwaves Washing machines Dryers Water heaters Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, ice makers... Will my rate remain the same or can I expect price adjustments?

Can I pay my bill in person?

What size bag should I use for my trash?

How do I access the Customer Portal?

You can access the Customer Portal here. You may want to bookmark it for future use. You can also access the Portal from any page on our website by clicking on the Customer Portal link at the top right corner of each page on our website (next to the Request Service button).

What do I do if I forget my password for the Customer Portal?

If you forget your password for the Customer Portal, click the “Forgot your password?” link below the login to be sent a link to reset your password. We will not be able to retrieve your password for you.

What can I use the Customer Portal for?

Can I pay my bill using my bank account through the Customer Portal?

Yes! You can make a payment in the Customer Portal using either a credit card or your bank account number. Better yet, you can sign up for autopay (using either of these payment methods) in the Portal to make bill payment as convenient and simple as possible.

You can pay your bill online in our Customer Portal. You will first need to set up an account.

I previously used your Account Manager. Can I use the same credentials to log in to the new Customer Portal?

The Customer Portal is a completely different system, so you will not be able to use your old credentials. You will need to set up an account before using the Customer Portal for the first time.
